Principal Full Stack Engineer (React, AWS)

We are looking for a Principal Full-Stack Engineer to help Modus Create improve the maturity of the software we build and sell directly to customers. Are you interested in working from home with some of the best talent on the planet? Then keep reading.

About You

You love building great software. You’re a software engineering leader and a lifelong learner who enjoys playing with new tech. You’re a patient teacher who wants to see the whole team succeed. You’ll focus on JavaScript/TypeScript and cloud platform experience, mainly AWS. You’re a techie nerd with an eye for performance and a deep understanding of serverless architecture, JavaScript core (ES2019+), and Web Components. We use modern tools, which means you’ll have the opportunity to work with software like ReactJS, Redux, AWS, and other cloud platforms.

You relish creating high-quality code from the comfort of your own home. Your engineering projects will focus on understanding customers’ needs and translating those needs from product specifications into functional, production-ready code. You’ll have the opportunity to ship code daily that customers will use.

Having overlap with your team is critical when working in a global remote team. Modus requires all team members to overlap with EST morning hours daily. In addition, reliable high-speed internet is a must.

Things You Might Do

Modus is a fast-growing, and remote-first company, so you’ll likely get experience on many different projects across the organization. That said, here are some things you’ll probably do:

• You’ll take the technical lead on the software we build and sell directly to customers by working with the VP of Product to understand needs and translate those needs from product specifications into functional, production-ready requirements and code.
• You’ll develop new features, migrate existing features, and create other mobile and web solutions for customers.
• You’ll oversee and advise on CI/CD, DevOps, and software lifecycle processes.
• The products you work on will impact thousands of organizations with millions of end users.
• You’ll develop your skills and learn new ones while working on many different projects as part of a fast-growing, remote-first company.
• You’ll give back to the community by writing blog posts or contributing to open source projects.
• You’ll be supported by Modus Create’s worldwide community of compassionate, collaborative technology professionals.
• You’ll support Modus Create internally according to your strengths and passions in areas like interviewing, solution design, managing direct reports, coaching, speaking at conferences, etc.
