Job Description
- Work closely across multiple business teams at eBay providing legal advice with respect to NFTs, blockchain and other Web3 matters.Â
- Keep up-to-date on regulatory and policy developments involving blockchain and digital assets generally; advise on country-specific regulatory requirements, including strategic and legal advice for new products or features.
- Work with other members of the eBay Legal team to manage all regulatory matters (e.g. permits, licenses, registrations) involving Web3 products, and to adapt any required company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local rules and regulations with respect to Web3 products.
- Independently coordinate with functional team members, including Tax, Finance, Privacy, Information Security, IP, and other internal teams regarding Web3, NFTs and cryptoassets.
- Become deeply integrated with business partners, understanding their needs and helping to find creative legal solutions to achieve business objectives
Skills/Requirements
- JD or equivalent from an ABA accredited law school
- Bar membership in at least one State
- A minimum of 10-12+ years of legal experience
- Significant legal experience with all areas of law most relevant to NFTs, cryptoassets, Web3 and the blockchain, including cryptoasset regulations, financial/payments regulation, securities regulation, IP law and AML
- Passion for Web3 technology, NFTs and cryptoassets
- Comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-paced culture, and a practical, solutions-oriented focus to solving legal challenges
- Capable of working with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Strong judgment and project management skills and someone whoâs always thinking about better ways of doing things
- Possess and demonstrate shared leadership values and competencies â courageous, driven, inventive, team player, coach, and communicator
